#CulturedKids November 2017

#CulturedKids November 2017

Welcome to November’s edition of #CulturedKids.

Things really are hotting up in the run-up to the festive season. Theatres have released their Christmas listings, and tickets are selling fast. So my #CulturedKids offering this month is a guide to what’s on in London for families this winter. If you’re quick, you might even be able to enter our Facebook competition to win family tickets to Raymond Briggs’ Father Christmas at the Lyric Theatre, Hammersmith. It’s a gem of a show; you can read our review of it here.

We celebrated Hallowe’en in style this year, with half-term trips to Leeds Castle in Kent and Shakespeare’s England – ie Warwickshire, the part of England that the Bard called his home. We stayed in the delightful QHotels Chesford Grange, and went on Hallowe’en themed excursions to Shakespeare’s Birthplace, Warwick Castle and Mary Arden’s Farm. I’ll post about the trip very soon. It was a feast of culture and fun.

There were some beautiful posts linked up with #CulturedKids last month. Catherine over at Cultural Wednesdays has picked her favourites; do hop on over to her blog, to find out which ones caught her eye. As for me, my favourites from last month were:

What Lurks Behind the Blue Door? Edzell Adventures, by Scots 2 Travel. Janice explored the magical countryside of Angus, in north-east Scotland, and discovered a dramatic landscape, steeped in history.

How to spend a weekend break in Stockholm, by the Curious Pixie. Sima and her family made the most of their time the Swedish capital, taking in 17th century warships, an open-air museum, stunning photography and Junibacken, the Astrid Lindgren-themed museum.

Belgrade: a gem waiting to be discovered, by Groove is in the Heart. Birgit took advantage of a friend’s invitation to explore the history and culture of this beautiful city.

What have you been up to this month? Have you visited any museums, galleries, historic places or theatre shows? Please do link up your posts in the November linky below. We’ll be looking out for images shared on Instagram using #CulturedKids – and if you’d like an invitation to pin to the #CulturedKids Pinterest Board, let us know (we’ll be pinning any posts with pins there anyway).
