About us

Aubterre sur Dronne

Meet the Pigeons: Austin (8) and Gwen (6). The Pigeons live with me – Nell – and the Daddy D. On this blog we share our tips on family travel, kids’ culture, and what’s new in our home town of London. We’re always on the lookout for ways to keep us out of mischief. We enjoy adventures on our home territory and further afield; the more unusual, the better. And we love to blog about the season’s hottest trends in clothes, toys and books that can accompany us on our travels.

As for me, I’m a freelance writer and editor, with a background in publishing, communications and public policy. I hold an MSc in Media and Communications from the London School of Economics, and a BA (Hons) in English and Philosophy from Bristol University.

The Pigeon Pair and Me is listed as one of Vuelio’s top 10 UK family travel blogs for 2016 and 2017, and was shortlisted in the 2016 BritMums Brilliance in Blogging Awards. My posts have regularly featured as Mumsnet Blog of the Day.

Nell, Gwen Austin and D aren’t our real names; I’ve created alter egos to avoid embarrassing the kids when they’re older. But, if you bribe me with Camembert, I’ll give you a hint about our real identities….

(and any PR can get full bio details, of course).

I do have one of each but I also hated how people rcaeted when they asked. You’re having a girl? One of each? How perfect! Another boy would have been equally as perfect, thanks. We’d like more children and some people really don’t understand why because we have the set . Um, because we like kids and want a big family regardless of what bits they come with?
