My little boy has just turned five. Here are a few pictures from his superhero party, at the Discover Children’s Story Centre in Stratford, East London.
After two attempts, I made a victoria sponge with a superhero mask on it. Given that I’ve never attempted any cake decoration further than a dollop of buttercream icing before, I was quite pleased with the result. Look out Great British Bake-off, here I come 😉
We arrived early, which allowed mini- and midi-Batman to take control of the party throne
and to check the lunchtime seating arrangement was to their satisfaction (as well as testing the party blowers)
Midi-Batman liked his cake. And no, his guests didn’t really have party hats for heads. I just thought I’d throw in a festive alternative to the blur option.
The party was a riot, with a storytelling session, indoor and outdoor sensory play, mask crafting, and a distinct lack of food throwing (what a difference a few weeks in school makes!). If you live anywhere nearby, it’s worth checking out Discover for their birthday party options (and yes, we did pay for ours…..)
