Our highlights of Brittany video

Glénan

How have your half-term holidays been so far?

We’re just back from a trip to the north of Britain. First call was meant to be a visit to family in genteel Harrogate, where I blissed out for a few hours at the Turkish Baths and Spa. We’d planned to go further north to Newcastle, staying at Jesmond Dene House; sadly it wasn’t to be, as the children came down with a sickness bug in Harrogate. So that turned out to be our first and last stop.

I’ll be back to post properly about it all in a few days’ time. In the meantime, do check out this little Highlights of Brittany video I made, of our trip over the summer. I’ll be writing more about this part of our French trip soon.

I adore Brittany! Wonderful video of sunny summer memories. I’de love to cruise around the the Glénan Islands. I had never heard of them until now. What a pretty spot. Thanks for sharing with us on #FarawayFiles Nell

We love Brittany especially the far west beyond Brest. Perfect place for pottering around beaches and markets.

Such a sweet video with your lovely children. I do love the look of the holiday park. I’ve read your posts about it but you do get a better idea of the atmosphere through the video.
Sorry you missed a chance to stay at the Jesmond Dene House hotel – we stayed there a few years ago for a family wedding. It was a gorgeous venue for the wedding and our rooms were wonderful.

Ah, that’s good to know. We’re planning on re-scheduling the trip, so hopefully we’ll actually get to stay there.

I really enjoyed this, Nell. It looks like you had the perfect family holiday and you’ve completely sold the idea of the Glenan Islands to me. Thanks so much for linking up with #FarawayFiles

Every time I see your photos of the Glenavy Isles, I keep thinking I must visit, it looks so beautiful. What a great holiday: such a shame your autumn one didn’t quite good according to plan. #farawayfiles

Ah yes, things often go haywire where kids are involved, don’t they?

Sorry to hear that your family’s half-term holiday was disrupted due to sickness. Hope you had some fun at the start at least, visiting family. Your short video on your summer holiday to Brittany looks lovely, especially the boat trip to the islands.

Thanks – we still had a nice time, even if it wasn’t quite what we’d planned.
