It’s been windy. Here in London, we’re fortunate not to have experienced the extreme weather seen in some parts of the UK. But there have still been gusts of wind strong enough to send A-frame notice boards skittering down the street.
So it’s been the perfect time to try out the pair of hoodies we’d been sent by Saltrock, a family focused casual clothing brand with stores based around the south coast and a brand new website. They focus on outdoor gear; the sort of clothes you might wear for a stroll along the sand dunes, or for a day out in the hills.
When I say ‘try out’, I confess that it was just me doing the trying. When the hoodies arrived, the Dartmoor zip hoody was such good quality that I decided to keep it as a Christmas present for D.
The men’s hoody is waffle-lined, to give an extra layer of warmth, and it has a tasteful metal logo on the chest. It’s not always easy to get the casual-but-smart look right for men, but I think this top is versatil enough to be worn to the pub or for walking the dog.
So – ssshhh! Can you keep this a secret until Christmas day? I’ve banned D from looking at my blog and Instagam posts till then. Let’s see if it works. I hope so, because I know this top will be right up his street.
As for me, I was offered a choice from Saltrock’s range of women’s hoodies and sweatshirts. If you’re looking for Christmas gift ideas, it’s worth checking these out. Saltrock have a lot of reductions on at the moment, and not only does a hoody make a good gift for relaxing in at home over the holiday; it’s also good for wearing down to the gym, when those New Year’s resolutions kick in.
The top I went for was the Winter Garden zip hoody in silver sage. It was the colour – a flattering grey/green – and detailing that attracted me to this piece.
This hoody is a cotton/polyester mix, and like the men’s hoody is warm, but lightweight enough to wear for exercise. Or for a blustery afternoon’s stroll….
Would you like to receive a hoody as a gift?
