Splashing – my captured moment

Yelloh! Village Parc du val de Loire

I find it hard to get rid of pictures. I’ve been trying to filter and edit the gazillions of images we have stored on our PC. My trawl has thrown up some gems from our summer holiday in France. Like this one, of my daughter splashing in the pool.

We have scores of shots of my son and daughter whizzing down water slides. I got all happy with the ‘best frame capture’ function on my camera – slides aren’t a place for keeping still and saying cheese, and I wanted to make sure I captured that moment. The huge grin of excitement that comes in the middle of a huge, galumphing splash into the water.

But even though I’ve picked out the best ones, I can’t bring myself to delete all the out-takes. They make up a little flickbook of images that show the range of emotions on my kids’ faces while they’re splashing their way down those slides. Scrunched-up noses, grimaces, even fear. We probably all look like that when we’re on a water slide. But only the very young can make it look super-cute.

So I’m going to hang on to those offcuts for now.

I’m linking this post up with #MyCapturedMoment at Running in Lavender.

Great shots. She looks so happy. I also hate deleting photos, especially of the children even if they are blurry or rubbish. #mycapturedmoment

Oh, I adore all those photos. I would not be able to throw any of them out either. That smile is of pure joy and excitement going down the slide. I love it. It looks like a fabulous holiday. #MyCapturedMoment. Hugs Lucy xxxx

Hi Nell, I’m like you and have a whole load of photos I could probably get rid of. I always find myself taking a few to make sure I get a good one, but find it hard to delete the ones I don’t plan on using, I have even found some really bad ones I’ve kept just because.

These pictures of your daughter on the slide are proper treasures, I love her change of expression as she goes down the slide and hits the water.

That’s the thing I love most about it too! I want to capture all those different fleeting expressions.

I think the beauty of digital pictures is that we can store so many but isn’t it a shame we don’t get them printed? Well, that’s true for me!! These shots of your little girl are absolutely gorgeous, her smile and the total joy on her face is infectious. Thank you so much for linking up to #MyCapturedMoment xx

I always mean to print off my digital pictures but never get round to it either. Need to clear my diary for a week so that I can get round to it – eek!

I keep everything. When I no longer have the disk space then I might have to purge a few but until then I will just keep going. These are too nice to get rid off 🙂

      That’s the spirit!
